GRANDS VINS DE BOURGOGNE

2004 VINTAGE

2004 was a surprising year
A depression settled on us for the whole summer and we began to worry about the grapes ripening!
Choosing the time to pick the grapes was a real headache. Should we begin on the 15th or the 25th September? After a lot of debate, we chose the 25th. The month of September was superb. The warmth of the sunshine soon made up the delay in the ripening of our grapes.
Apart from my two vintages 2003: Auxey-Duresses and Volnay
I also covert 3 additional vintages into wine :
- St Aubin 1 er Cru en Chardonnay
- Monthelie village
- Volnay 1 er cru en pinot noir.

2005 VINTAGE

If we compare it to the previous years, the 2005 winter was a bit colder, which allowed us to plough the ground a little later in the season. The blooming period went very well with just a few chardonnay clusters that dropped, but nothing serious. The vines, which are now mastered, allowed us to pick a smaller quantity of grapes, perfectly mature and healthy.

We harvested our pinot noir grapes on 10 September, for the crémant. However, the harvests took place a little later for our other grapes. The sun was shining throughout the entire harvest. There was a fantastic atmosphere in our wine-harvesting team, as well as a good quantity of grapes harvested.
