GRANDS VINS DE BOURGOGNE

Monthelie 2004

Name : Monthelie
Color : Red wine
Grape variety : 100% Pinot noir
Appellation : Village

Description of the wine :

Grapevines with a very tight yield, I harvested them on 26 September with good conditions and a high quality of grapes. After the plucking and masking, I put them in a “cold” vat, with temperatures between 10 – 12 0 C for about ten days. Measuring and bringing up the grapes once a day, until we had obtained a nice structure. Maturing in barrels for 11 months. Fining, filtration, and bottling at the Boyer-Martenot Estate.

Tasting :

Without a doubt, this Monthelie has managed to retain all its freshness, both in its bright red colour hardly tinged with purple and by its nose that is fruity and reminiscent of plants (blackcurrant, macerated fruits, green grass ...). Despite being young, it is noticeably rounded and its tannins are of unimpeachable quality. It would go well with a grill or kebabs.
