GRANDS VINS DE BOURGOGNE

Volnay 1er cru "en Carelle" 2004

Name : Volnay 1er cru "En Carelle"
Color : Red wine
Grape variety : 100% Pinot noir
Appellation : Village

Description of the wine :

Harvested in the same conditions as in the village, as well as the vinification, the Volnay 1er Cru took longer to mature. After having been matured in barrels for 11 months, the barrels were assembled in vats for a couple of months, for the homogeneity of the vintage. Fining, filtration, and bottling at the Boyer-Martenot Estate.

Tasting :

A character wine with a magnificent ruby red robe and a nose giving out an intense aroma of black and red fruits (blackcurrant, blackberries, raspberries …). Beautifully sustained on the palate: a full-bodied wine with well-defined tannins. Excellent keeping properties can be expected over the years to come. Would happily go with a piece of beef.
