GRANDS VINS DE BOURGOGNE

Auxey Duresses Les Clous 2004

Name : Auxey Duresses Les Clous
Color : White wine
Grape variety : 100% Chardonnay
Appellation : RVillage

Description of the wine :

The vines are situated on a hilly slope in the direction of Saint Romain. This parcel is ideally located on clay and limestone soil, with a good exposition to the sun. The harvesting on this parcel took place on 4 October, when the grapes had reached their ideal maturity point. The raisin must is barrelled, and all in all, it will have been matured for a period lasting 11 months in a barrel, (30% new barrels) and five months in a vat, before being assembled, to stabilise its aromas. Fining, filtration, bottling on the Domaine Boyer-Martenot Estate.

Tasting :

A golden yellow coloured wine with beautiful intensity and an excellent aromatic quality. With a nose of white fruits mixed with pleasant wood/toast notes; well-presented on the palate, shows a certain firmness in the finish and displays all the characteristics of a young wine. A successful accompaniment to white meats, river fish or cheese.
